WASHINGTON, D.C. – Recently, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) have introduced bipartisan Congressional Review Act legislation in the Senate to block the Biden administration's electric vehicle mandates. The legislation is also supported by U.S. Representative John James (R-MI-10) in the House of Representatives.

Dr. Paul expressed his opposition to the mandates, stating, “The Biden Administration’s new mandate being forced on Kentuckians is yet another Big Government power grab and a far-left fantasy.” Meanwhile, Sen. Ricketts criticized the mandate, calling it "delusional" and highlighting its potential negative impact on low-income and rural families.

In a similar vein, Rep. James emphasized the importance of protecting consumer choice and preventing adverse effects on the Michigan auto industry, stating, “Michigan is not afraid of the future, but we demand to be a part of it.”

The bipartisan legislation aims to overturn the Biden administration's EV mandates, with a focus on safeguarding the free market, defending consumer choice, and preventing undue government interference in individuals' car choices.

The introduced legislation is part of broader efforts to challenge the recent Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations that mandate a significant increase in electric vehicle sales in the U.S. over the next eight years. The move comes in response to concerns about the economic implications and potential restrictions on consumer options posed by the new emissions regulations.

The support for the legislation extends beyond the initial sponsors, with a significant number of senators joining in cosponsoring the initiative.

The bipartisan push against the EV mandates reflects ongoing debates surrounding government intervention in the automotive industry and the balance between environmental objectives and consumer freedom in vehicle choices.
