Rep. Brett Guthrie, who has represented Kentucky’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2009 after succeeding Ron Lewis, shared his recent activities and thoughts through social media posts. Guthrie, who resides in Bowling Green and was born in Florence, Alabama, continues to engage with legislative matters and community concerns.
On April 11, 2025, Guthrie announced that "this week, the House passed the No Rogue Rulings Act". The act aims to prevent U.S. district courts from issuing rulings that have nationwide implications beyond their jurisdiction. Guthrie emphasized that the legislation reflects "the separation of powers at work and will help to restore faith in the Federal Judiciary."
A day later, on April 12, 2025, Guthrie posted about his engagement with community leaders regarding recent flooding. He noted, "yesterday, I met with local Judge Executives and leadership from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to be briefed about the ongoing work to recover from this week’s flooding." Guthrie stressed the importance of a comprehensive recovery strategy and expressed gratitude for the efforts being made.
Additionally, on the same day, Guthrie sent a festive message, "Happy Passover to everyone in #KY02 and across the world. Chag Pesach Sameach!", extending well-wishes to those celebrating.
Brett Guthrie, beyond his congressional role since 2009, previously served in the Kentucky Senate from 2000 to 2008. At 59 years old, he continues to be an active member of his community and government.
