Rep. Brett Guthrie, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Kentucky’s 2nd district, took to social media on April 9, 2025, to discuss a variety of issues ranging from energy security to college sports and technological competition with China.

On that date, Rep. Guthrie expressed his support for recent executive actions concerning the coal industry. In a post he stated, "For years, our coal industry has been under attack, putting America's energy security at risk. Thank you @POTUS for your Executive Orders yesterday to help unleash American energy – they are a win for America, especially coal country!"

Later in the day, Guthrie highlighted a meeting with prominent figures from Kentucky’s sports community. He wrote about this on April 9, 2025, noting, "Great conversation this morning with @UKAthletics and Louisville Athletics about the state of college sports and how we can continue supporting our student-athletes. Congratulations to the legendary Coaches Mark Pope and Pat Kelsey on your successful seasons!"

Moreover, Rep. Guthrie addressed concerns about international competition in artificial intelligence and emphasized America's potential to lead. He expressed on the same date that, "China has made it clear that it plans on doing everything in its power to win the race on AI. As Chairman of @HouseCommerce, I am determined to prove to China that America will win – but we must ensure that we have the necessary energy and agile regulatory environment to do so."

Brett Guthrie, born in Florence, Alabama in 1964 and residing in Bowling Green, has been a Congressional representative since 2009 after a tenure in the Kentucky Senate.
