WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representative Brett Guthrie, the voice for Fort Knox, the Wendell H. Ford Regional Training Center, and countless military servicemembers and their families, expressed his satisfaction in voting for the Defense Appropriations Bill for Fiscal Year 2024. The bill guarantees that Congress supports our brave men and women in uniform, providing them with the necessary resources to ensure our nation's security.
The Defense Appropriations bill encompasses a historic pay increase of nearly 30% for junior enlisted servicemembers. Representative Guthrie takes immense pride in the bill's focus on bolstering the efforts of the National Guard in preventing the influx of illicit drugs into our communities. By funding their counter-drug programs, including specialized training initiatives aimed at disrupting drug cartels, this legislation seeks to impede the flow of these dangerous substances into our country.
