Cost of college went up for all students at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College

In-state tuition and fees rose 4.1 percent for 2018-19 at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Kentucky residents paid $4,248 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $168 more than the $4,080 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 239 percent more than residents this year, or $14,400. Their price tag grew 4.3 percent from $13,800 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Kentucky residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 97 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 174 students received grants or scholarships totaling $796,867 and 44 students took out student loans totaling more than $210,103.

Including all undergraduates (4,482), 3,517 students used grants or scholarships totaling $11.7 million, and 907 students took out $4.3 million in federal student loans.
