The Western Kentucky University (WKU) women’s golf team is set to participate in the Daniel Island Invitational, which will take place at the Daniel Island Club in South Carolina on March 2 and 3. The event is hosted by the College of Charleston.

The tournament format includes 36 holes on Monday and an additional 18 holes on Tuesday. WKU’s lineup for the competition features Sydney Hackett, Reagan Ramage, Grace Frei, Leah Edwards, and Kaylee Dwyer.

In their previous outing at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational last week, WKU finished eighth overall. Sydney Hackett led the team with a seventh-place finish and a 2-over score for the tournament. Hackett currently holds the No. 78 spot in SCOREBOARD’s individual collegiate golf rankings.

During the fall season, WKU competed in four tournaments. The Lady Toppers secured third place at both Tennessee’s Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate—where Hackett was co-champion—and Wisconsin’s Badger Invitational. They also placed ninth at Purdue’s Boilermaker Classic and tenth at Vanderbilt’s Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate.

Sydney Hackett was WKU’s top finisher in all four fall events and received Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors three times during that period. She concluded the fall ranked No. 55 in SCOREBOARD’s collegiate rankings, marking a program record for highest individual ranking by a Lady Topper.

The Daniel Island Invitational field consists of 15 teams: host College of Charleston, Charlotte, Delaware, Oral Roberts, Charleston Southern, Elon, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Xavier, Georgetown, NC State, James Madison, High Point, Furman and WKU.
