Chairman-Elect Brett Guthrie has announced the leadership for the House Energy and Commerce Committee's subcommittees for the 119th Congress. In a statement, Guthrie emphasized the committee's role in advancing American energy dominance, reducing healthcare costs, and protecting children online while maintaining technological leadership.
"Today I am proud to announce the Subcommittee Chairs and Vice Chairs for the House Energy and Commerce Committee for the 119th Congress," stated Chairman-Elect Brett Guthrie. "The Energy and Commerce Committee will lead the way as we work together to restore American energy dominance and lower prices, protect access to lifesaving treatments while lowering the cost of health care, and protect our children online while ensuring America remains a leader in technological innovation. Our subcommittee Chairs and Vice Chairs will be instrumental in getting our America First agenda across the board all while ensuring the American Dream is still within reach for families and small businesses. I look forward to hitting the ground running with each of them to do just that."
John Joyce, M.D., from Pennsylvania's 13th district, will serve as Vice Chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee.
The appointed leaders for each subcommittee are as follows:
- Communications and Technology: Richard Hudson (NC-09) as Chairman with Rick Allen (GA-12) as Vice Chair.
- Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade: Gus Bilirakis (FL-12) as Chairman with Russ Fulcher (ID-01) as Vice Chair.
- Energy: Bob Latta (OH-05) as Chairman with Randy Weber (TX-14) as Vice Chair.
- Environment: Morgan Griffith (VA-09) as Chairman with Dan Crenshaw (TX-02) as Vice Chair.
- Health: Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (GA-01) as Chairman with Neal Dunn, M.D. (FL-02) as Vice Chair.
- Oversight and Investigations: Gary Palmer (AL-06) as Chairman with Troy Balderson (OH-12) as Vice Chair.
This new leadership team aims to support an agenda focused on energy independence, affordable healthcare solutions, technological advancement, and oversight.
