Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) and Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) will host a Service Academy Information Fair for students and their families interested in the application process for U.S. Service Academies. The event will take place at the Knicely Conference Center at Western Kentucky University on Thursday, September 5, 2024, starting at 5 p.m. CT.
“I am looking forward to hosting the 2024 Service Academy Information Fair alongside Senator Paul to give students and their families an opportunity to learn more about the application process for U.S. Service Academies," said Congressman Guthrie. "Representatives from the service academies will be present to answer specific questions about admissions, and my staff and I will also be available to walk students through the nomination process. As a proud West Point graduate, one of my favorite responsibilities is helping the next generation navigate the admissions process for our nation’s prestigious service academies that help shape our nation’s future military leaders."
“A very rewarding aspect of representing our Commonwealth is the opportunity to nominate young men and women from across Kentucky to attend our nation’s prestigious service academies," added Dr. Paul. "I look forward to hosting this Service Academy Information Fair with Rep. Guthrie where both of our staffs and representatives from the service academies will be present to assist students in the application process and answer any questions they may have. I commend each of these students for their interest and desire to serve in the United States military and wish them the best of luck through the remainder of their application process.”
Representatives from several U.S. service academies—including the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, and U.S. Coast Guard Academy—will attend to answer questions about admissions processes. Additionally, a representative from Western Kentucky University's Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program will provide information on ROTC programs and college scholarship opportunities.
