WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02), a senior member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee and Chairman of the Health Subcommittee, released a statement following the Supreme Court's decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo and Relentless, Inc. v. Department of Commerce, which overturned the Chevron Doctrine.

“I applaud the Supreme Court’s ruling which made significant strides to returning Article I authority to Congress and to the American people as our Founding Fathers intended," stated Guthrie. "For the past forty years unelected bureaucrats in Washington have enjoyed sweeping, consequential regulatory authority, controlling nearly every facet of the American economy."

He continued, "Moving forward today’s decision provides Congress the sole authority to clarify congressional intent and affords the American people the ability to have a seat at the table in the policy-making process."

Guthrie emphasized that his committee has been addressing rising costs attributed to inflation under President Biden's administration. “The House Energy & Commerce Committee has been working hard for the past year to address Bidenflation raising the costs of everyday goods, gas, and health care across the country."

"This Supreme Court decision provides our Committee an even greater ability to push back on the Biden administration’s policies and their allies in the Administrative State that are hurting our communities and raising costs on everyday Americans,” said Congressman Guthrie.
