U.S. Senators Rand Paul and John Kennedy have introduced the Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act aimed at addressing the dissemination of inaccurate and racist content about Israel and the Jewish people in Palestinian classrooms.

“It is inexcusable to require U.S. taxpayers to finance Palestinian educational materials that promote radicalism and violence against the Jewish people,” stated Senator Rand Paul.

Senator Kennedy emphasized the importance of the bill, stating, “The Palestinian people suffer because of Hamas and its radical ideology. The Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act would ensure that not a single U.S. taxpayer dollar goes to schools that teach young children the same hate that inspired the Oct. 7 attacks against Israel.”

The Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act, if passed, would mandate annual reports by the Secretary of State to evaluate the curricula used in Palestinian schools. The reports will assess whether the educational materials encourage racist violence against the Jewish people and if U.S. foreign aid is supporting such content.

The bill is not only a response to the reports of antisemitism in Palestinian education but also a step towards ensuring that American foreign aid aligns with American values.
