Guthrie Announces 2024 Congressional Art Competition

Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) has announced the commencement of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for Kentucky’s Second District. This annual competition is open to all high school students who have a passion for creating art.

In a statement, Congressman Guthrie expressed his enthusiasm for the event and encouraged students to participate. He said, “I’m encouraging all high school students, who enjoy creating art, to participate in the 2024 Congressional Art Competition. Each year I am honored to host this competition, and I’m always impressed with the artistic talent of students across Kentucky’s Second District. Thank you to all local educators and judges for helping make this year’s Congressional Art Competition possible.”

The Congressional Art Competition takes place each spring and is organized by participating members of Congress in their respective districts. In Kentucky’s Second District, the artwork of students will be evaluated by an independent and local panel of art professors from colleges and universities.

The winning artwork from Kentucky’s Second District, as well as from other districts and territories, will be showcased in the U.S. Capitol. Additionally, the second and third place winners will have their artwork displayed in Congressman Guthrie’s Bowling Green District office.

In addition to the main competition, the Congressional Art Competition for Kentucky’s Second District also includes a “Facebook Favorite” contest. All submitted artwork will be posted on Congressman Guthrie’s official Facebook page, allowing the public to vote for their favorite piece between April 15-19, 2024. The winning artwork of the “Facebook Favorite” competition will also be displayed in Congressman Guthrie’s Bowling Green District office.

The winners of the Congressional Art Competition will be announced on April 22, 2024. Students have three options to submit their artwork to Congressman Guthrie’s Bowling Green District office by the deadline of April 12, 2024. Artwork can be shipped or dropped off at the following address:
