ICYMI: Dr. Rand Paul Continues Fight Against COVID-19 Mandates for Senate Pages
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has introduced a resolution to protect Senate Pages from COVID-19 vaccination requirements, as part of his ongoing efforts to defend individual freedoms and challenge unscientific mandates. Dr. Paul cited multiple scientific studies that have shown a heightened risk of myocarditis for children and teenagers after receiving an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. He also emphasized that, for young and healthy individuals, the risks associated with the vaccine outweigh the risks posed by COVID-19. Furthermore, he highlighted the consensus among vaccine committees that young, healthy individuals do not need COVID-19 boosters.
However, Senate Democrats have once again refused to follow the scientific evidence and objected to Dr. Paul's resolution passing by unanimous consent.
Dr. Paul made the following statements regarding the issue:
"Common sense should prevail, and the Senate should repeal this mandate, just as we did for our young soldiers. We shouldn't allow politics to infect and cloud common sense judgment. The vaccine committees that make recommendations for vaccines actually don't recommend COVID boosters for young, healthy individuals."
"But the Democrats want submission. They don't want you to have the choice to keep your kids safe and make a decision whether or not your kid, who may well have already had COVID needs yet another vaccine. Why are we forcing these kids to do something that I would say is against medical advice to be a page in our program here?"
"No one should be forced to undergo a medical procedure against their will. In a free society, no one should be forced to receive an injection into their body that they do not wish to have... the Democrat's Party support for medical choice seems selective and inconsistent."

Background:
Last week, Dr. Paul introduced a resolution to protect Senate Pages from COVID-19 vaccine mandates. Earlier this month, he also introduced a similar resolution to safeguard them from vaccination, testing, and masking requirements related to COVID-19. However, Senate Democrats objected to Dr. Paul's efforts.
Over the past few years, Dr. Paul has consistently taken action to defend Americans against those who disregard scientific evidence on COVID-19. He previously introduced a resolution that would have lifted vaccine and mask mandates for pages. He also introduced the Vaccination Non-Discrimination Act last year, aimed at preventing federal taxpayer dollars from supporting healthcare facilities that deny care based on COVID-19 vaccination status. Additionally, Dr. Paul offered the Support the Reinstatement of Trained and Effective Firefighters amendment to ensure funding for fire departments that terminated firefighters for refusing vaccination or opposing COVID-19 mandates. He has also been outspoken against travel mask mandates without scientific basis.
