Senator Rand Paul, known for his libertarian views and criticism of military interventions, recently took to social media to express his opinions on the United States’ foreign policy. His tweets highlight concerns about past and potential future military actions.

On June 18, 2025, Senator Paul criticized what he referred to as “DC’s war lobby,” stating that they have consistently been wrong in their assessments regarding conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria. He remarked on the tendency to promote new military engagements as if they were sequels worth pursuing. “DC’s war lobby never learns. They were wrong about Afghanistan. Wrong about Iraq. Wrong about Libya and Syria. But here they are, ready to sell you the next war like it’s a sequel worth watching.”

Later that day, Senator Paul addressed the issue of potential military intervention in Iran. He emphasized that any such action should be deliberated by Congress rather than being executed without debate or prior approval. During an appearance on Timcast, he stated there is no justification for bypassing congressional discussion in this matter. “Any military intervention in Iran must come before Congress. This wouldn’t be a surprise attack. There’s no excuse to bypass debate.”

In another post from the same day, Senator Paul shared a link labeled “WATCH,” directing followers to further content presumably related to his statements or interviews conducted during this period.“WATCH: https://t.co/h6Ab10CLU4”
