Rep. Brett Guthrie, who represents Kentucky’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on social media highlighting international developments and local community milestones.
On October 13, 2025, Guthrie commented on the return of Israeli hostages by Hamas, writing, “Moving images coming out of Israel this morning, with the last remaining Israeli hostages being returned by Hamas. Thank you to @POTUS for your unwavering commitment to establishing peace in the Middle East.”
The following day, October 14, 2025, Guthrie marked a significant milestone for a local financial institution, stating, “It was an honor to celebrate the Bank of Edmonson County’s 100th anniversary yesterday. This local institution has guided its customers through countless changes – Keep up the great work!”
On October 15, 2025, Guthrie visited Edmonson County High School and praised its vocational training efforts: “It was great to see the incredible work being done at Edmonson County High School’s Vocational Wing this week. This impressive, newly renovated facility is training our next generation of skilled workers well! Go Wildcats!”
Guthrie has served in Congress since 2009 after replacing Ron Lewis and previously held a seat in the Kentucky Senate from 2000 to 2008. Born in Florence, Alabama in 1964, he currently resides in Bowling Green.
