Brett Guthrie, currently serving in the U.S. Congress and representing Kentucky’s 2nd district, recently addressed several issues through a series of social media posts. These tweets, covering topics from internet safety for children to a homage to former President Trump, were shared from March 26 to March 27, 2025.

On March 26, 2025, Guthrie highlighted the concerning dangers faced by children on the internet, referencing a tragic incident involving a young Kentuckian. He noted, “The dangers our kids face on the internet recently devastated #KY02 when Eli Heacock, a 16 year old Kentuckian, took his own life after falling victim to an online extortion scheme.” He mentioned that the House Commerce Committee is taking steps to protect children online.

Later that day, Guthrie reminded constituents of the upcoming deadline for the Congressional Art Competition. He announced, ” Today marks two weeks until the deadline to submit artwork for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition! If you are a #KY02 high school student interested in the chance to have your art displayed in the Capitol, click the link below to learn more.” He encouraged high school students from Kentucky’s 2nd district to participate.

On March 27, 2025, Guthrie expressed gratitude towards former President Trump for his actions concerning border security. He tweeted, “Thank you to President Trump for taking decisive action to secure our border and get violent criminals out of our communities! Promises made, promises kept.” He acknowledged the efforts Trump made during his presidency.
