Rep. Brett Guthrie, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 2nd district since 2009, recently shared updates on social media regarding law enforcement efforts, patient advocacy, and economic policy.
On September 12, 2025, Guthrie addressed a recent act of violence in the country. He wrote, “Political violence has no place in our country. I am grateful for the hard work of law enforcement in bringing Charlie Kirk’s killer into custody this morning. My prayers remain with Charlie’s family as they navigate this devastating time.”
The following day, Guthrie highlighted his engagement with local healthcare advocates. On September 13, he posted, “Great conversation with advocates from the Kentucky Patient Access Network this week. As Chairman of @HouseCommerce, I am committed to advocating for the best quality of care for Kentucky patients.”
On September 14, Guthrie reported on his meeting with business leaders in Paducah. He stated, “This week, I gave an update to the Paducah Chamber of Commerce about the ways that the Working Families Tax Cuts will grow our economy, unleash American energy, and strengthen the Medicaid program.”
Guthrie has represented Kentucky’s 2nd District in Congress since succeeding Ron Lewis in 2009 and previously served in the Kentucky Senate from 2000 to 2008. Born in Florence, Alabama in 1964 and currently residing in Bowling Green at age 59, Guthrie continues to focus on issues relevant to his constituents.
