WKU Baseball will play Cincinnati in its first home midweek game of the 2026 season on Tuesday, March 3 at Nick Denes Field in Bowling Green. The game was originally scheduled to be held in Cincinnati but was moved due to concerns about possible bad weather.

The Hilltoppers currently have a 7-6 record after splitting a recent series against Indiana. This season, WKU has achieved four wins over Power Four opponents, a milestone not reached since 2011. The team is batting .271 and averages 6.4 runs per game. On the pitching side, WKU has a team ERA of 5.35 with 115 strikeouts over 116 innings.

WKU leads Conference USA with 31 doubles this season, which also ranks them No. 12 nationally among NCAA Division I teams. They have drawn 70 walks so far, tying for the league lead and placing them No. 32 nationally.

In Friday’s win over Indiana, Gavin Perry earned his first victory of the year by pitching five innings with six strikeouts and two walks. Perry holds a 3.38 ERA in three starts this season. Aaron Robertson has pitched 16 innings across three starts and has recorded a 1.69 ERA with 14 strikeouts.

Lane Arroyos leads the Hilltopper offense with a .375 batting average and 14 RBIs from 12 hits in 48 plate appearances. In Saturday’s doubleheader against Indiana, WKU scored a season-high of 14 runs on as many hits, including five doubles—a season best for the team.

Tuesday’s matchup marks the tenth meeting between WKU and Cincinnati, with WKU leading the all-time series eight games to one. At home, the Hilltoppers are six-and-one against Cincinnati.

Cincinnati enters the game after winning their series against Austin Peay at home, including a walk-off win and a shutout to clinch the series. The Bearcats have an overall batting average of .276 and score an average of just over six runs per game; their pitching staff holds an ERA of 3.80 with 110 strikeouts in just over one hundred innings pitched.
