Dr. Rand Paul Continues to Fight Against COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates for Senate Pages

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) is continuing his efforts to protect individual freedoms and put an end to unscientific mandates by introducing a resolution that aims to protect Senate Pages from COVID-19 vaccination requirements. Dr. Paul believes that the risks posed by the vaccine are greater than the risks posed by COVID-19 for young and healthy individuals, and there is consensus that the vaccines do not stop the transmission of the virus.

Despite the mounting evidence, Senate Democrats have once again refused to follow the science and objected to Dr. Paul’s resolution passing by unanimous consent.

In his remarks, Dr. Paul emphasized the importance of common sense and medical recommendations: “Common sense should prevail, and the Senate should repeal this mandate, just as we did for our young soldiers. We shouldn’t allow politics to infect and cloud common sense judgment. The vaccine committees that make recommendations for vaccines actually don’t recommend COVID boosters for young, healthy individuals.”

Dr. Paul also questioned the Democrats’ motives, stating, “But the Democrats want submission. They don’t want you to have the choice to keep your kids safe and make a decision whether or not your kid, who may well have already had COVID needs yet another vaccine. Why are we forcing these kids to do something that I would say is against medical advice to be a page in our program here.”

Dr. Paul believes that no one should be forced to undergo a medical procedure against their will, and that the Democrats’ support for medical choice is selective and inconsistent.

Last week, Dr. Paul introduced a similar resolution to protect Senate Pages from COVID-19 vaccine mandates, but Senate Democrats objected to his efforts. Over the years, Dr. Paul has consistently taken actions to defend Americans from unscientific COVID-19 policies.

Background:

In addition to his recent resolution, Dr. Paul introduced a resolution last year that would have lifted vaccine and mask mandates for Senate Pages. He also introduced the Vaccination Non-Discrimination Act to ensure that federal taxpayer dollars are not used to support healthcare facilities that deny care to patients based on their COVID-19 vaccination status. Dr. Paul has consistently been outspoken against COVID-19 mandates without a scientific basis.
