Rep. Brett Guthrie, who represents Kentucky’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on community events and national policy through a series of posts on his social media account.

On July 28, Guthrie highlighted his participation in a local event: “Excited to be with the team, residents, and supporters of Potter Children’s Home in Bowling Green last week for the ribbon cutting of a new property on their campus. Congratulations on this important milestone!” The event marked the opening of a new facility at Potter Children’s Home, located in Bowling Green where Guthrie resides.

Later that day, Guthrie commented on recent developments in international trade: “The U.S.-EU trade deal is a huge win for American energy production and national security! I’m grateful for @POTUS’ leadership to get this deal done and look forward to working with him and our full @HouseCommerce committee to unleash American dominance!” The statement reflects ongoing discussions about U.S. energy policy and its intersection with global partnerships.

On July 29, Guthrie addressed recent debates surrounding legislation known as the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill.” He stated: “Over the past few weeks, Democrats have spread misinformation about the One, Big, Beautiful Bill. Read my @courierjournal op-ed setting the record straight!”

Brett Guthrie has represented Kentucky’s 2nd District since 2009 after serving in the Kentucky Senate from 2000 to 2008. Born in Florence, Alabama in 1964 and currently living in Bowling Green, he succeeded Ron Lewis when he entered Congress. His recent posts reflect both local engagement within his district and involvement with broader legislative initiatives.
