U.S. Representative Brett Guthrie, who represents Kentucky’s 2nd district in Congress, posted several updates on his official Twitter account regarding legislative actions and disaster relief between July 23 and July 24, 2025.

On July 23, Guthrie highlighted recent developments from the House Committee on Energy and Commerce by sharing a link for further information: “Read more about today’s markup https://t.co/KSXQYTTx9L”.

In another post on the same day, Guthrie announced progress on bipartisan legislation affecting college athletics: “Thrilled to see @HouseCommerce report the SCORE Act out of committee today. Our bipartisan plan establishes commonsense guardrails for Name, Image, and Likeness rules in college athletics. https://t.co/zDrCNhJ6G4”.

On July 24, Guthrie issued an urgent reminder to Kentuckians impacted by April flooding about a deadline for federal assistance: ” Important update for Kentuckians affected by the April flooding! The last day to apply for individual assistance through @fema is tomorrow at 11:59pm.   You can apply for assistance at https://t.co/uFzF21gZSL https://t.co/nV745XQCFV”.

Brett Guthrie has served as the U.S. Representative for Kentucky’s 2nd district since replacing Ron Lewis in 2009. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Kentucky Senate from 2000 to 2008. Born in Florence, Alabama in 1964, Guthrie currently resides in Bowling Green.
